The Greater Accra Regional Hospital, commonly known as Ridge Hospital, is a state-of-the-art healthcare facility in Accra. Originally established in 1928 for European expatriates, it was later upgraded to a district hospital post-independence and transformed into a regional hospital in 1997. Following significant redevelopment, it is now a 420-bed tertiary hospital, with plans to expand to a 620-bed capacity under Phase II of its ongoing upgrade. This hospital offers comprehensive specialist services, including surgery, cardiology, neurology, paediatrics, obstetrics, emergency care, and radiology. It is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools like MRI, CT scans, and minimally invasive surgical technology. Additionally, it provides public health and teaching services for medical students and healthcare professionals.
